Tattoo Zone at the Zappos Booth

by Social on March 13, 2010

You can’t make this shit up – my sources tell me that the crew at Zappos are going to set up a tattoo parlor at their booth where they will shave you bald and tattoo the Zappos logo on your head.

Free haircut plus an awesome Zappos tattoo on my head? See you in line!

p.s. In a stroke of cross-marketing genuis, you’ll be able to check in at the Tattoo Zone on foursquare but NOT on Gowalla.

OK, I’m live at Fake SXSW and I think I am the first to report on this breaking news. The conference just announced that Nora the piano-playing cat will be at #FAKESXSW on the panel “Existential Themes in Feline Music.”

Nora is a hot ticket on the Fake Conference circuit, having just appeared at Fake SES with her keynote presentation: “How to avoid typosquatting over the litterbox,” and earlier this year at Fake CES discussing touchscreen species discrimination.

I’m feeling it. Are you feeling it?

Back with more soon!

Live Show: Justin Beiber & A Giant Hyena

by lee on March 13, 2010

Okay, so you have no real idea who Justin Bieber is but you know you hate him, right? You see his name and you hate even his name. Then you see a picture and you’re all thinking like “Whoa, I KNEW I’d hate him!!! Look at his smarmy little face! And boy, I bet his music sucks worse than anything, ever. Can I fast forward to 2030 when he’s penniless and fat and run over by a flying car?”

We convinced his manager to let us feed him to a giant Hyena in the gym at the Hilton. His manager hates him, too.

Welcome to #fakeSXSW

by lee on March 12, 2010

Each year, dozens of thousands of millions of people flock to Austin, Texas for a unique convergence of music, film, beer, interactive media whoozits, BBQ sauce stains, margaritas vomit, sweat and tears.

You aren’t one of them.

But you’re good enough for #fakeSXSW – the virtual get together where you don’t have to leave your home in order to attend. You can host a panel. post your handle or smoke your sandal. It’s all free and and it’s all here and so are you so hello.
